I used paper mache letters and painted them. Once the paint was dry, I decorated them with various embelishments, papers and sentiments. They're really fun to make and inexpensive too!

DIY Mr & Mrs Wedding Signs
Mr & Mrs signs are still really popular at weddings. They're a great way to incorporate your theme and colour scheme and a creative way to accompany your candy buffet.

Final Centrepieces & Sweetie Bar...
Here are our final DIY centrepieces, sweetie table and decorations from our UK reception (you may have seen the 'practice' ones a few months ago in the blog). We used the mini topiary trees as balloon weights.
Much to my disappointment, the photographer didn't take any professional pictures of these so please forgive the not-so-great images!!!!
Here's the kiddie's table, which kept them all occupied - although they did spend more time in the sumo suits and bouncy castle!! We had balloons on the table too.
The sweetie bar...unfortunately these pictures don't show the 'final' table, which had a voile backdrop, tealights and table jewels to finish it off

Tealight/Mirror Plate Centrepieces
Here’s my second lot of centrepieces! Not much of a DIY element to these but thought I’d share them all the same! The lovely tea light holders and mirrors are from The Range, petals and scatter jewels are from eBay…

Floral Centrepieces
Here are one lot of our centrepieces – a very low budget centrepiece to fit with our shabby chic theme! I made some tags of love quotes and tied these round the top of the jam jars with ribbon and tied some raffia round the top for that rustic look! Uses artificial peonies and roses and voila!
I used artificial flowers from eBay and jam jars from Amazon

Decorations
After pretty much deciding on the centrepieces, I’ve searched high and low and changed my mind a million times on what decorations to use! There is so much to choose from! One idea that I thought would be lovely is to decorate balloons with little butterflies, I seem to be slowly bringing butterflies into my theme somehow! They will look great dotted about the place in plants, flowers etc
For the tables around the centrepieces it’s going to be petals and maybe a few table crystals scattered around….
To create something similar to this…
Table trivia is a great idea - what a fantastic ice breaker for guests who don’t know each other!

Bunting part two!!!
Here is the next lot of bunting that I’ve managed to get done….I didn’t realise just how much bunting I was going to need to decorate the venue - I need to get cracking to make lots more!
I couldn’t find quite the right material so in the end, I bought a kids quilt cover which was perfect and much cheaper than buying all the material separately as it only cost £8 and I made 6 meters from just one pillowcase!

Bunting...
Ok so I've finally made some bunting.....
The fabric was from eBay and the local market and I made this cutting out triangles using pinking shears - after cutting out a triangle out of cardboard to use as a template. I then stuck the top of the flag over the ribbon using copydex glue, leaving a 3 inch gap inbetwen each flag.

I plan to make some more bunting (double sided this time) using floral and patterned fabrics in similar colours with a more vintage feel.
Will post on here as soon as its finished!!

Centrepieces
Well I really am stuck for choice on this one. Centrepieces are something that I have been thinking about for months as I just cannot make my mind up what to go for!! There are so many beautiful centrepieces that are easy peasy to make yourself using fresh or artificial flowers, fruit, candles, vases, jam jars, plant pots, the list is endless.
Here's a few of my favourites to fit with my shabby chic theme....
You and Your Wedding is a great place to look out for mirror plates, vases, etc that people are selling after their wedding, I must admit I'm on there all the time looking out for bargains and have picked up a few from the lovely ladies on there!
Please feel free to send in images of your DIY centrepieces!!
Have a lovely weekend x

Just a quick one...
Ok so this isn't strictly a complete DIY decoration but just a quick, simple and cheap way of customising your wedding decorations. The white hearts were about £1.20 each from ebay and the foam flowers (I put a pink one on one side and a white one on the other side) were around £2 for a bag - another bargain decoration!!
Apologies that the pic's aren't too brilliant but just to give you an idea.....

Reception Venue Decoration...Inspiration
One thing that I’ve been doing for the past few weeks is collecting bits and pieces (as cheaply as possible or course!) for the venue decoration but I have mainly been looking for inspiration for things that would be easy enough to make myself (hence the wooden hearts) or at least do as much of myself to make it cheaper, such as the birdcages. I found a couple of birdcages half price on eBay, also got the flower garlands second hand from ebay and wound them round the birdcages – very pretty and effective!!
Here are a few ideas I have so far that I may well attempt after the bunting...
