Decorating my wedding cake is something I am now considering doing……I may cheat and decorate rather than bake the cake but hey, better than nothing!! Plain iced wedding cakes can be picked up from £8 for a medium cake and £13.48 for a large cake from Asda. Marks & Spencer have an offer on at the moment – buy two tiers and get one free.
There are lots of cake toppers around such as these below, from floral to humorous and are available from various shops and websites…..

Maybe have a ‘trial run’ before hand to experiment - A sponge cake will last for at least two weeks if stored correctly and a fruitcake should last up to a month.
