Craft Wedding Fair!

Sorry yet again for the lack of posts and how quiet it has been of late - I have been very busy organising The Bridal Boutique Wedding Fair.

Sorry for the lack of posts of late... I've been busy setting up my wedding and event planning company, Pink Tree Events.

 

There is still lots of hard work to do but I'm getting there and I promise to keep posting when I can! I'm gathering lots of inspiration so will be sure to share it with you soon :-)

DIY Mr & Mrs Wedding Signs

Mr & Mrs signs are still really popular at weddings. They're a great way to incorporate your theme and colour scheme and a creative way to accompany your candy buffet.

I used paper mache letters and painted them. Once the paint was dry, I decorated them with various embelishments, papers and sentiments.  They're really fun to make and inexpensive too!

Free Wedding Printables

So I've been having a search for some more free printables - there are so many out there to choose from and it really takes the hard work out of some of the DIY planning!

So here goes...

Cards and Pockets have lots of templates to choose from - choose your card, open the template, customise then export - then they are ready to print!


Photo Booth - photo booths are really popular at wedding receptions and they're great for capturing memories!! This great template is from Wedding Chicks - they have some fab stuff on their blog!

Tea Favour Tags - perfect for an English Tea/vintage theme! From the brilliant Martha Stewart Weddings

Free Scrabble Letters! Ok so they don't look so great on their own but imagine how these could be integrated into your wedding theme and for use on wedding stationary or even signs for the reception...

If you don't have the time to make your wedding stationary 100% handmade, why not order some printed invitations and then customise them to match your theme?

Personalised Photo Bags - Perfect Wedding Favours for Kids!

Whilst ordering some dry decal rub off paper for some craft projects (I will post about that shortly!) I saw these Personalised Jute Photo Bags and thought what a great idea for wedding favours - especially for kids!

They are made from jute/hessian with sturdy handles and a pocket on the front of the bag which holds a personalise message, picture or piece of artwork. Simply fill them with sweets and there you have it!

Back after a long time away from blogging!

I hold my hands up to neglecting this blog! After having a baby, being back to work and generally being very busy, I've not had time to blog regularily but as I was one of 200 blogs to be contacted by MoneySupermarket.com to enter their competition 'Room for Improvement'  it has motivated me to get my backside into gear and get stuck into some creativity as well as giving my bathroom some much needed attention!

 

Ok, so this isnt strictly wedding related but its due me being contacted via this blog, that has got me thinking I need to start blogging again!

The mirror idea could be adapted for a wedding DIY project if you were wanting something a little different.

The wood panelling was painted with white gloss to help brighten the room and complement the light green walls. I found some off cuts of voile at 50p each to use for the windows. I then made some tiebacks by stitching glass beads to green ribbon.

 

 

My Father in Law cut out the letters ‘SOAK’ from some off cuts of wood, which I painted and decorated with some left over craft supplies. These were then stuck to the self-adhesive mirror tiles before sticking onto the wall.

 

 

 

To continue with the green and white theme, I purchased a green toothbrush holder and soap dispenser. I also replaced the beige shower curtain with a green and white shower curtain to help really freshen up the room.
My husband cleaned up the grouting with a dremel multi-tool to freshen up the look of the tiles.
I used some candle holders for the green candles, from another room to help make the finishing touches.

...a wonderfuly romantic theme! Would be fantastic for this time of year or the new year would be a fantastic time to buy things for this theme in the January sale - think christmas decorations that arent strictly 'Christmassy' - all things red and sparkly!

Eco Wedding Theme

...becoming more and more popular is the eco friendly wedding theme. There are many ways you can make your wedding eco friendly:

For stationery, Look for products which are made with fairtrade or recycled paper/card products such as these Environmentally-friendly recycled board tag inserts

Confetti could be organic, fairtrade or locally produced flower petals or made with recycled paper or bird friendly seeds.

This fragranced pink heart soap packaged in a simple brown envelope tied with a contrasting ribbon trim and matching 'with love' tag makes the perfect favour or gift!

Use a local florist using locally sourced flowers and don’t forget to use recycled containers whenever possible
