DIY Table Numbers/Names

There are some great DIY table number ideas – all which can be used to tie in your colour scheme with a little creativity and personalisation.

Wine bottle table numbers

These don’t have to cost the earth! If you’re planning to have wine/champagne on the tables then why not create your own personalised labels to use as table numbers/names? Create your own and print onto large lables or Download free templates from the Ruffled blog by clicking here

Photo table numbers

Either use a photograph of you both (the bride and groom) and print the table numbers in a clear, large font and secure both to card backing or laminate onto card to ensure that they’re sturdy. Alternatively (courtesy of the fantastic and inspiring Martha Stewart site) print out some large table numbers and have somebody take your photograph holding the different numbers/names, print them onto card, and attach to a photo stand, such as this one from DIY Favour boxes. Simple, personal, effective!

Balloon table numbers

Print off your table numbers in your chosen font and colour and carefully stick to a pearlised helium balloon. Attach the balloon to a weight (maybe the centrepiece rather than a balloon weight, which can sometimes look tacky!) using matt ribbon or thin lace for a classy look.

Vintage/shabby chic favours

I absolutely LOVE anything with a vintage/shabby feel (hence the theme for my wedding!) Nothing has to strictly match which makes it a great theme to work with!

Here are some of the best vintage/shabby chic favours that I’ve round around at the moment - 25 vintage style luggage tags £6.50 from Folksy.com (left) French vintage style glass bottle £3.50 from Velvet Wedding (right) and my absolute favourite, Vintage Music Sheet Rose Cones £3.00 from Vintage Twee (bottom) some beautiful handcrafted favours and wedding pieces available from this website.

Shabby chic favours are also easy to create yourself – take these favour boxes from Confetti (right) £6.99 for 10 (also available in grey, blue, green, coral) and DIY Favour Boxes (centre) £5.77 for a pack of 10 boxes. I Do Wedding Favours right) £4.50 pack of 10. Pick your embellishments and fillings and away you go!

Red & Purple Inspiration

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and apologies for the lack of posts over the Christmas/New Year period.

So, moving on from the Christmas/winter wonderland mood boards, here is some red/purple inspiration that is still ideal for a winter wedding mixing rich opulent shades for a romantic/glam feel.

Purple and red together make a strong statement and can work well for bridesmaid dresses as long as you take care that the outfit does not overwhelm your attendants (often depends on skin tone/hair colour) Choose one colour as the focal point, and let the accessories pull in the accent colour.

Cocktails in purple and red would look fabulous lined up on the bar for guests!
